“Tempo Incognito: On Flows, Rhythm, and Movement”, curated by Rana Öztürk, intends to examine the experience and conceptualization of temporality in contemporary societies, exploring how our sense of time can clash or be in tune with natural, ecological and universal cycles.

Kerem Ozan Bayraktar, Sergen Şehitoğlu, Yağız Özgen and I show related works installed together in one section of the exhibition space, as an extension of the ideas we presented in our talk titled “Landslide” – part of the performance and presentation series “Repetition & Cycle” curated by Rana Öztürk and Sinem Dişli in 2017. Each of our work focuses on different aspect of accidents, anomalies, exceptions or breakpoints as they relate to accumulations followed by sudden transitions in social, physical and cultural systems and asks what it is like to be thrown out of our usual frames of perceptual, cognitive or behavioral reference.
